Ellerbe's 34 Pages (2015)
Written in honor of Ellerbe Cole, a pillar of the Maine contra community who died in 2015. This is part of a suite of three dances I wrote, the others being "Ellerbe's Ride" and "Summer of Ellerbe." The configuration of the wavy lines and Rory O'More sliding is intentionally reversed in honor of Ellerbe, who didn't always dance every figure exactly how the caller intended. Thus, callers may emphasize who is in whose hand and which direction to balance the wave.
